What does a Health Care Assistant do?

Our Health Care Assistants visit our service users in their homes, and assist them with everyday tasks which they are not able to manage on their own.

Health Care Assistant skills

We’re looking for reliable, empathetic individuals with the following qualities:

  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations

  • Sensitivity and understanding

  • To be thorough and pay attention to detail

  • The ability to work well with others

  • The ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Customer service skills

  • To be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device

From the moment you join the Whispers team, you’ll be empowered with the required training, resources and ongoing support you’ll need to help you become an exceptional Health Care Assistant. Our Training team are all experienced, passionate experts who pride themselves on developing the very best carer professionals.

Do you need qualifications to be a Health Care Assistant?

Qualifications and previous experience are not required as full training and support will be given. We believe the desire to make a positive difference is much more important!
